LOBA LO4xx Upgrade Sport Turbocharger for VAG 2.0 TFSI
Introducing the LO4xx Sport Turbocharger Upgrade for 2.0 TFSI engines. The LO4xx turbocharger is the result of many years of development and evolution on the 2.0 TFSI platform. Our aim was to make a new upgrade with the boost response characteristics of a our K04 LO400 upgrade, yet flow more air mass, harder and for longer, higher in the RPM band. We feel we achieved this goal.
Power & Response
To construct a LO4XX we take two factory brand new OE BorgWarner turbochargers, a K16 and a K04. Using the K04 exhaust housing/manifold and optimizing with 5-AXIS CNC machining processes to reduce back pressure before the larger turbine wheel used, we also clip or cut back the turbine blades to increase gas flow and reduce back pressure even more. Port match the exhaust runners at the head flange to match the OE head exhaust ports to ensure maximum throughput and performance efficiency. We CNC Re-profile the K16 compressor cover and backplate to utilize our newest and latest technology LOBA Motorsport forged billet compressor, that is unique in design, geometry and size yet extremely light in weight to give ultimate response, 25% lighter than original used cast types and standard billet types, this offers much greater strength and durability. Having a forged billet the nose and stem of the compressor wheel can be machined significantly smaller to allow for a greater blade area and diameter for inducer size, blades can be made thinner so more efficient and flowing more air then say same size billet compressor wheel. The end result is a compressor of extreme lightness for fast unmatched response and efficiency. We use a large LOBA CNC machined billet intake, to feed the compressor, fix and seal this to the compressor housing, providing a much bigger 59mm Dia intake vs a stock KO4 for maximum air flow.
Precision durability
LO4xx is fitted with a uprated turbo bearing. It has a greater bearing contact face to withstand the high loads that would destroy a standard bearing very quickly. The whole unit including the single parts are balanced to a far higher precision standard than OE, to less than 0.02gmm for the very best longevity.
Play with peak performance
The results are a great balance of power and performance, longevity and durability with fantastic turbo response and minimal lag. You will not sacrifice low end horsepower or torque, however gain a massive amount of power in the mid range and top end, giving refined consistent performance time and again that's well suited for motorsport use or out on the street.
